Eastern Bloc Staffordshire Weekend

Saturday Morning:  Meet at Apedale Valley Light Railway (https://avlr.org.uk/). The site consists of a light railway with both diesel and steam locomotives, many of WW1 vintage, (pay on the day to ride) and the Apedale Heritage Centre (with free museum).  Pending covid regulations, there’s an optional  underground mine tour! (£5).  Our vehicles will be on display by the station.

Saturday Afternoon:  We take a road run through the industrial heartland of Stoke-on-Trent for photo opportunities, followed by a rural road run for more photo stops.  We’ll be joined by photography friends of the Club to capture some awesome shots.

Saturday Evening:   For those stopping over, we have meals drinks and informal talks laid on at the Keele KPA Clubhouse, based at Keele University Campus.
Talks confirmed include the inside story of TV’s ‘Car SoS’ and a Trabant tour into the Sahara.

Sunday:   We drive from Keele Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre and its iconic radio telescopes.  Cost £7.50 per person payable at the venue. https://www.jodrellbank.net/
