Following a superb 2019 IFA Day, taking in the scenic delights of Loch Lomond, this year we tackle the industrial heartland of Scotland, home of the “big yin”, the deep fried mars bar and “wreck the hoose juice” A weekend in Glesga.

Saturday 25 April 2020

Meet at 10am at the Riverside Museum, 100 Point House Road, Glasgow, G3 8RS.

We will take in the sights at the transport museum,  enjoy lunch, and take a look at the Glen Lee , a restored Victorian sailing ship from 1896.

At 1pm we depart for a 70 mile round trip road run to the Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway, EH51 9AQ. Here we can enjoy some of Scotlands finest preserved rolling stock, a ride along the preserved railway, and a look at the various exhibits.

Then heading back to Glasgow for dinner at the amazing West Brewery  , G40 1AW, for German food and beer for those staying in Glasgow overnight.

Sunday 26 April 2020

Sunday is the national ‘Drive it Day’ when all owners of classic vehicles are encouraged to take to the roads.   We hope to visit the Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust in Fordneuk Street G40 3AH for a look around the exhibits and hopefully have a ride on a vintage bus.

For those left we will then head to cafe Cossachok, King street, Glasgow, G1 5QP, for a Russian meal.  Parking is available at  King Street NCP car park, G1 5QT.

Interested?  Contact below as we’ll need to know numbers for meals and to confirm the visit to Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust.

All Eastern Bloc vehicles and keepers are welcome to join us at any point, but we must know in advance for Sunday’s events.
