A relaxed weekend of fine Eastern Bloc motoring awaits us for our first foray into Warwickshire

Friday. For those arriving early, a visit to The Royal Ordnance Depot Weedon is recommended.

The visitor centre closes at 13:00 on Fridays but the bookshop, café, gallery and antique shops in Storehouse 1 are open until 16:00 and a walk around the site is possible at any time.

Saturday.   Our convoy run follows the line of the Grand Union Canal to the Canal Museum at Stoke Bruerne.  As well as the museum and coffee shop there should be the opportunity for a trip on the canal to the southern portal of the 200 year old Bilsworth Tunnel.

Our route then takes in Silverstone, Cropredy, Edgehill and the Fosse Way with their connections to WWII, the British Grand Prix, Fairport Covention, the Civil War and Romans respectively.  The run into Kineton crosses some of the MoD Defence Munitions Kineton extensive network of railway lines.  Lunch will be at the Gilks Garage Cafe at Kineton.

We then return to Weeden via the Fosse Way where, if not already done, there’ll be time to visit The Royal Ordnance Depot, visitor centre and Storehouse 1 , or just a walk around this historic site.

Sunday.   We convoy from Weeden to Burton Dassett with views across the MoD Defence Munitions Kineton site and continue to the British Motor Museum at Gaydon (or meet us there from 10:30 if going direct).

We expect to have a reserved parking area for display of our Eastern Bloc classic vehicles.   Participants will have discounted admission to the Museum and Collection.

IFA Club members have the additional joy of the AGM starting at 14:00.  The museum closes at 17:00.

Base:  We will be based at The Crossroads Hotel (!) Weedon.  This former Permier Inn is now operated by Chef & Brewer.  Early booking is recommended.  Nearby there are other small pub B&B options  (Heart of England, The Narrow Boat) and a Holiday Inn.  Evening meals on Friday and Saturday will be at 18:30 at The Crossroads Hotel.

All vehicles (2, 3 or more wheels) with an Eastern Bloc pedigree are welcome to take part for all or part of the weekend.  No fees for taking part other than venue admissions.
